We’re the Matthews Group, Calgary accountants, who specialize in helping entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial families improve their businesses and build wealth.
Our clients are entrepreneurs and professionals, with private companies head-quartered in Alberta. They are usually family businesses where the owners and their families are involved. Our clients are drawn from many industries and professions. All are entrepreneurial.
Alberta is a diverse province. It’s resource rich; most people know of our oil sands up north, but we also have a large conventional oil and gas industry. Our prairies are home to another major industry, farming and ranching, and in the last twenty years our cities have seen the growth of many high-tech companies.
Our base, Calgary, is a modern city of a million people. It’s Canada’s oil and gas capital, of course, but it’s a business city first and an important distribution centre because of its road/rail links. It’s cosmopolitan and multi-cultural - a breeding ground for entrepreneurs.
As a result, our clients are from many sectors – from construction and development to software design, from geomatics to manufacturing, from staffing services to advertising – and, of course, from oil and gas to agriculture.
